Chanelle gives vets the chance to Win Exclusive Dublin Race Day

Vets attending BEVA congress are being urged to hone their competitive instincts as Chanelle Vet has an exciting prize up for grabs.

Two lucky winners and a guest each of their choice will be flown out to Dublin for a fun-filled day at the famous Leopardstown races. Not only will the champions have their entire race day catered for, but will also be granted exclusive entry to the Leopardstown suite and an overnight stay near to the venue. Runners-up need not be disappointed as there will also be ten special, signed editions of renowned Jockey, A.P. McCoy’s autobiography up for grabs.

The competition is centred around a recent survey. Chanelle Vet has been finding out about how equine owners across the country perceive pain in their horses and their opinions on how pain should be recognised and managed. The competition will ask vets to share their predictions of owner consensus on the topic.

Considerable improvement in the pain recognition of small animals and humans has been made in recent years, but that of horses has lagged behind. Chanelle Vet has seized the chance to collect information on how owners recognise various presentations of pain and their attitudes to short and long-term pain management in their horses. With over 500 respondents, the results of the nationwide survey may help vets to provide superior pain management and ensure that the needs of both horse and owner are satisfied.

The topic of equine pain is complex and deserves much greater attention says Angela Wilkin, Sales and Marketing Manager at Chanelle Vet: “Diagnosis, treatment and management of pain in horses is often far from straightforward, which is why it is imperative that owners and vets are on the same page. We are delighted to be able to offer such wonderful prizes to champion such a worthwhile cause – one which Chanelle is extremely passionate about. It really is about time that equine pain took prime position in the united interests of both veterinary health professionals and horse owners.”

Come along to stand C26 and see if you can guess the correct answer in the simple multiple choice competition and have a chat with the Chanelle Vet team about our pain portfolio.
